Nice find, but not really all that rare compared to others of that vintage :)

If it has the original HSS metal guide blocks, leave them alone. Cool blocks and carter type guides are a wast of money. There is a bunch of owners and lots of information about them over at the OWWM site… and you can find the instruction and parts manual over at the VintageMachinery site (like here). You can also date it using the serial number if you have it.

This has the old carbonish fiberish coolish blocksish in the guides. I’m looking to replace Carter set up or what have you. Trying to upgrade, yes. But also trying to keep stuff simple and somewhat stock.

Good call on OWWM etc. Been over there a while.

I’m more looking for good sources for replacing the “consumables” on this machine…..Any one else?

Skip the Twolf blades. Get a Lenox from Iturra design. Lou Iturra has probably forgotten more about your bandsaw than most of the other experts will ever know. He has a wealth of knowledge where old delta and jet BSs are concerned. He’s a bit more expensive, but his advice is more than worth the premium.

Great score in the 768! I would definitely fully restore it, because it is rare. From what I can tell you from your picture the table is not original: That table is from a 14” Delta BS. Some replaced the smaller original table because it did not have a miter slot. Many of the parts on this are the same as the 14” BS so you should not have too much of a problem keeping this going. It is also missing the “Retirement light”, but those can also be found: they are expensive, with patience you should be able to get one fairly reasonable. New tires are a must, unless they have been changed out recently. You can find a used OEM pulley/belt cover if you want a safer machine.

I was able to pick a fully intact 768 for less than a song and I am in the process of restoring it.
I got Lenox blades for mine. All of the “consumables” (bearing, blocks etc) are readily available.
I am replacing all the bearing during my restore.
