For my 2ยข I like removable. I need portability. Sometimes I need to pack up and travel with mine. One of the easiest ways I’ve found to make wings is score you some commercial aluminum door/window jambs.

I made a set. Use the jambs for the fence / wing structure and screw plywood to the bottom (inside of jamb) to set material on to be cut. Removable/ adjustable legs can be easily made. A little fiddling to make the saw/wing connection. Don’t forget to notch wing fence at the saw, allowing for the miter saw fence to expand/contract as needed when changing miter saw bevel settings. Straight, strong, light weight.
