I have a Hitachi CMS. In my experience it’s been a good saw. I use it to break lumber down to rough length before jointing and planing. I don’t generally use it for precision cuts but I have used it to cut miters on boards too long for the table saw and it’s always done well.

yes, the hitachi is a good saw. they both cut equally well..both have advantages. have you thought about getting rid of the mitre saw and doing everything on the TS?

Not really. I do most things on the TS but there are just some cuts that can’t be done on the TS or that are just easier on the miter saw. Not that it’s not feasible but, I think my CMS earns the small footprint it occupies in my shop.
