I have no need for such a thing but if you want them to be permanent, etch them with acid. Or use marker and seal with poly.

A Dremel with a mini blade and scribe a mark and it is permanent. Or a engraver, electric ones are so so but I have a pneumatic one that works great. Fine diamond bit and go slow.
