Pretty sure the SS 505990 is the planer that gets power from the SS Mark V unit. The Shopsmith Pro version is the stand alone unit.

I have the stand alone version and it’s a beast of a machine. A comprehensive LJ review can be found here.

I think it’s possible to modify the other unit by adding a motor but obviously this would maybe make the deal less appealing.
