That Domino morticer is really nice and i have seen it work, but it is too expensive for what I do. I’m a dowel guy!!

FESTOOL DF500 $895,default,pd.html?ref=googaw&gclid=CjwKEAjwps2_BRC5jduHor-h8xESJADGT-Lt1AZA3dPf312WpzB2scM_1QHcHpRxkLdoK0DuzKzzmhoCjmfw_wcB

Your home made tools do some very nice things and you can do the mortices on the machine you made. It is a cost decision!!

You might find the Festool quicker to set up and easier to use, but your horizontal router setup really looks nice; not sure it needs replacing. If you’re using this for money making projects I’d say it’s worth buying the Festool. If your space is tight the Festool will free some up.

I have considered the same thing but the price of the festool is what stops me. Even $420 is to pricey for me. However I agree with Fred that if used to make money then time is a factor and cost would be justified. I love my homemade slot mortiser and will never replace it.

Good luck
