This type of fan is designed to move a large volume of air with a very small pressure drop. It is ideal for venting the air from a room. Dust collection systems require fairly large pressure drops because of pressure loss across a filter and/or cyclone. You also need to keep a fairly high flow velocity through the ducts to keep the dust suspended so you have a fairly significant pressure drop there. This is why dust collectors typically use radial flow fans. They can generate more pressure difference.

So, in other words, if you have very short duct runs and no filter, and no cyclone you might be able to get this fan to do something, but it really isn’t the right fan for the job and is unlikely to work very well.

Think I will just have put it on eBay or Segundomano and get something for it with luck!

Perhaps this motor could be used to power a shop-made blower per Matthias Wandel’s website
