Look up flatmaster for the specs. They use a polycarbonatr tube for the drum. They recommend a 1/2 hp for the motor on the 24” model. The drum turns at 1725 rpm. All the info is out there if you know how to look. Why are you using stainless?

Get a plain steel slotted shaft. Stainless is a waste of money. Price your version then compare with buying the flatmaster version Buying theirs will most likely be cheaper because they have the bugs worked out.
