Woodmasters are excellent planers, the 18in version runs over $2000 new. I don’t have one, but one the sawyers I use does and works it hard with no issues. If the tools have been taken care of and are in good shape, that’s a very good price already. Since he’s willing to negotiate, however, maybe offer $900 or $1000 and start making some sawdust.

Would you guys agree that an older PM66 cabinet saw will be a better choice then a new Grizzly hybrid?

Cabinet saw trumps hybrid any day. If the PM66 is in good working shape, then it is a far better choice.

Don’t know anything about the jointer but, the planer and TS, if in good working order, are worth whatever you can get them for. Consider the jointer as a bonus.

I’d say a PM66 is a better choice than anything made by Grizzly, and the older the better.

The woodmaster itself woulds be $800+ near me. The PM66 is at least $900 here, and a jointer is minimum $200. That is a fantastic deal.

Heck, I’ve seen PM66s sell for $1600…I’d be all over that deal like white on rice!

Darn right! There are a bunch of PM66s on CL near me for ~$1200-$1500. There is actually a 18” woodmaster for $1800. I don’t need the PM66, and I’d say $1000 would be worth the money.

I ended up with the saw, planer, jointer, delta tenon jig, porter cable dovetail jig, dado set, taper jig, a drill press and 300bf of 6/4 white oak. Feeling pretty good :)
