He’s willing to accept $600 now, but I have to drive an hour and rent a trailer to pickup, adding another $100 to the cost. It’s only a 1 1/2 horse unit and it’s a model 60 built in 1987.

Worth it or should I hold out for a 2 horse?

Is 1.5 horses adequate on an 8” jointer?

1.5 is ok. I have to slow the feed rate down when doing 6-8” stock so the motor can catch back up.

Correction. It’s a 1997 model, not 1987.

1.5 horses seems inadequate.

Would a 2 horse not make me have to slow my feed rate?

Maybe I should buy a Grizzly 3 horse jointer?
