Window Seat - Minimum Height?

My concern would be if I had children, the safety aspect. Other than that its your house, I have seen similar set ups but no children around.

Well, seat height is normally 18 inches. But that’s a chair. If you are making a seat where someone can recline with their feet up and there are lots of pillows the height won’t matter quite as much. Make it whatever height you want – I’d probably do the sill is cushion height and subtract from there.

Turn a 5 gallon bucket upside down and sit on it. Too low, add a board or two. Too high, subtract an inch.

I actually went ahead and built a scrap bench about 3 feet long and window height. Threw patio cushions on it. I think it works. You see the cushions outside obviously, but if they are tan it’s not real noticeable. As for sitting, I think it would be a reclining seat with your back on the side wall as it’s a very wide area. I do have kids and might hold off a year or two, but I’m excited to try it. Thanks for the input guys!
