Oh good, weve acquired another master woodworker with all the answers. Comparing yourself to a woman who had the patience to teach Helen Keller …. Or comparing others to those who had such severe impediments to learning. How cute.

Well Nightguy, seeing as how you’ve been around for almost a month, never posted a project, replied to post with generic answers and crap any nitwit could google. I totally understand you’re feeling of superiority. I don’t know how the hell these guys got along without you for all these years.

Oh by the way, I was being facetious. But ill give credit were its due, that was the most efficient and clever way I’ve ever seen to insult so many people at once. Bravo on that part.

1st I dont have to glorify myself by posting project pics.
2nd if you want to be a wood worker invest in some good books by great authors b4 the project and read them and learn, some, Jeff Hewitt and Bob Flexner on finishing.

Then you will not to be asking HELP here, you learned and did not make the fatal error, and you will learn how it all ties together. Dont be a UTube baby.
Yes I made some mistakes and learned from them, but it was because I pushed the limit of what I knew the limit was by understanding the basics first.

So you glorify yourself by calling us lackeys and comparing yourself to a truly great person. Why the hell did you join this site anyway. Oh I think I know, it gets lonely in your moms basement, you poor bastard.

“Dont be a UTube baby.”

Hey, I like Youtube. Gave me plenty of lessons on the proper use of turning tools. I tried reading books about it, but turning between the illustrations fast enough for demonstration became exhausting.

A little advice about forums:
When someone new posts opinions many people choose (wisely I believe) to have a look at that poster’s projects to get an idea of how knowledgable he/she might be and therefore how much weight to give his/her opinion.

People post for many reasons, some good some not perhaps, but one very good reason to post a project or two (if you want your opinions to be read seriously) is validation.

Just sayin …...

nightguy – your joking – RIGHT?

There are people on this site that share ideas with other that are more than master craftsmen/women. They still advise each other and love doing it, they don’t have too but they do.

I know I have been helped by some people that I will never be as skilled or talented and I thank them for it. You might be surprised at some of the people here. – Not a good way to start a conversation!

I like the gist of what you’re saying but you’ve presented yourself like a troll. It’s a hole you’ll need to climb out of before anyone takes you seriously. Or don’t, it means nothing to me one way or the other. I don’t need your advice, assuming you have any to give, and I don’t think the forum needs it either.
