I’ve gotten HSS jointer knives from American National Knife before and they seem decent. I have no complaints.

Just replace them. Sharpening cost just as much as replacement knives. I usually buy from Holbren or Global, and they both offer 8” jointer knives for around $20 (for a set of three knives). 6” are even cheaper.

Holbren, Infinity, Grizzly, Hartville Tool, Ebay, Amazon, Rockler, Woodcraft….all should have decent blades that will fit.

If the existing knives are sharp, you can just move one or two over slightly to get rid of the ridges they are leaving behind. That will at least get you working while you look for replacement blades – which as others have stated, can be sourced from lots of different places/manufacturers.

Cheers,
Brad

Thanks for the advice. It is good to know that most of these after market suppliers sell decent blades. Holbren was mentioned twice, so I will probably start there.

Thanks for the reminder about sliding a knife over. I have done that on my planet in the past with good results.

I just wish I had bought a dozen sets of Delta knives way back when they were cheap. I could sell them for a better return than playing the stock market.

Have your say...
