Thanks for posting. I admire the work done with Japanese style planes, but setting them up is beyond my skill level. I did make a plane from wood, but used a conventional plane iron. It works great and even can be used as a Japanese pull style plane, but far from the real thing. I won’t get the filmy ribbons of wood shavings.

Thanks Ron. I think that it’s just getting one thing right at a time and eventually the plane is running well. They are not always problem free for me, but knowing how to solve problems has helped a lot. I transfer this same info back to Western planes and it helps me there just as well.
