Stewart Batty demoed at our club Saturday. He used only 3 handles for about 10 tools that he brought. The tools have a taper and a large nut that holds them into the handles. All he did was hand tighten and loosen when he changed tools. The beauty of the removable handles was the small area needed around his grinder. It was better than having a long handle to fight while grinding tools. .............. Jerry (in Tucson)

I’m not familiar with Serious Tools, but unhandled shafts and separate handles are pretty common. We have a bunch in our turning studio, and many professionals use them for demos. Having both ends ground makes a lot of sense.
