Most if not all cut list programs will only show the outline of the pieces. This is intentional as the process is to rough cut the pieces slightly larger than necessary, and then make the final cut to size using the detail drawings. If you want to peruse this type of process, I can explain my work flow and the extensions I use. Unfortunately I cannot post a sample PDF that I work off of.

Thanks for all the replies.

i have found a solution… there is a free extensions called Super Section which you use to take a slice of the model in my case all of it and it opens a fresh scene with all the pieces laid out exactly as I wanted with their faces showing to the modeller / viewer. So between this and the free Cut List extension I can easily create my detailed plans.

The plans won’t just be for me that’s why I was wanting to include as much detail as possible for whoever will be following them.

I forget the name of it, but there is an extension that will explode your model into separated components. It leaves model in place and offsets the exploded view. You can enter parameters to control how far to explode pieces. I had it on previous computer that got replaced and haven’t tried to relocate and load it.

Super Section sounds interesting/useful also…

Have your say...
