I can’t say for sure Joe, not an expert at all but I have a few cherry logs stored out back and the bark on mine is a lot rougher looking than the bark I see on your logs. The last picture is a little blurred to me but if I was a betting man I would guess Maple. I’m making a new handle right now with Purple heart, at least that is easy to identify.

Folks here locally call tupelo “Black gum” and I do have some of that but the bark looks a bit different.

Hmmmm, I did cut back a dogwood tree in the yard, but I dont think I would have done it in January.

..............

China berry and Hickory… never had any of that (that I am aware of)

............

And crowie, I’ve had that thing for probably 20+ years. Have no idea where I got it, but I use it pretty much every time I’m in the shop. I’ll look tomorrow to see if it has any brand on it.

I am thinking either hickory (the bug holes) or gum (but the bark is different) or dogwood (again the bark). Looking at the size of it, I am going with dogwood. Currently, I am making a dogwood walking stick for a Catholic priest and it looks a lot like the wood you have:
