It would seem that whatever they were trying to do to “fix” the site, fixed it to the point that it doesn’t work properly anymore. Sometimes, a fix ain’t a fix.

Yes Trouble with the web site, I can understand where some people feel that advert blocks are wrong and others feel that they have become necessary. But the fact is that the site is quickly becoming less user friendly. It is the friendly posters / users that provide and have provided the content that draws the web clicks. I just hope the Admin finds a respectable balance between need and greed so the good posters stay. Perhaps they could come up with a content contribution based membership where the people who contribute to the content don’t see ALL of the adverts or something.

Knothead62, I’m seeing exactly the same problems as you are. I have to hit the backspace bar 6 times now (5 times last night) so it doesn’t look like things are improving yet.

Not being able to “zoom” the project pics is also new since yesterday.

The front page is messed up, bad. Alignments are all over the place, and the projects aren’t showing up at all… I am on Windows 7 64 bit using Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer all give the same results. On my Android 4.3 device the native browser and Chrome both show the same problem…

Well there’s your problem dbhost – those are unsupported web browsers. Have you tried it with mosaic or netscape navigator? If that doesn’t work you might need to upgrade to windows 2.0

You have to wonder if the people who run this site ever look at it!

The way the programmers have cobbled this thing up is a disgrace.

Everything working fine here (Chrome) except project photos open in a new window now but that isn’t entirely bad because before if the picture was really large the size was limited by my browser window. Back button works fine, front page looks fine, but there are some subtle layout differences.

Count me in on the frustration with the problems on this site.
You would think with over 85,000 members, this thing would run like a Ferrari.
When I first joined, there were less then 5,000 and it worked great.

I think I’m going to start phasing out of this site.

It’s getting back to normal. It may take a while because everything is so screwed up. The last project I looked at did fine – just like before. Give them a little time, they’ll get it fixed (or go crazy trying to).

Yup … looks like things are back to normal. Main page looks OK, forums are no longer a black blob of text, and pictures open when you zoom in on them in projects.

Now I have to find something else to b!tch about.

I’m not having a problem with the back button right now, but in the past, I’ve found it comes and goes. Not only on this site but others as well. If you right click on the back button it should give you a list of previous pages you can check out. When I’ve had that problem in the past, my back history was cluttered with hundreds of Google ad serves. Normally those things are supposed to just load in the background via scripting and not break the back button but every so often they do. Not sure why. You might want to check that out. If it is like that, you could try clearing your cookies to see if that helps.
