I haven’t used the fresco colors, but when the first thing that pops up on a search is: “J. E. MOSER’S ® Fresco Colors are super refined, pure dry pigments designed for coloring, mixing and tinting most paint, enamel, epoxy, fillers, shellac, stains, lacquer, varnish or other liquids: Very useful for touch up work when quick color matching or changes are required.” I’d say yeah, mixing with Seal Coat is fine. You’re doing sample boards, which is a smart move, so I’d say don’t worry so much. You’re doing great. |

I really appreciate your response. Mixing dyes is new to me but I must say I really like the idea. -- Dave, NY, It works-It really does! |

Mfr states they mix with shellac so should not be an issue. I use Transtint which are already dissolved and very easy to add drop by drop. I think the Moser dyes are rebranded Transfast powdered dyes. |

I will try the transit next. Can you use it with seal coat? Thanks for responding -- Dave, NY, It works-It really does! |

Yes Transtint will mix with alcohol and water based products as well as solvent lacquer. Will not mix with oil based products. I use wd lockwood oil based powders dissolved in naptha for those. |
