What makes them seconds? Because they have knots?

I cannot see a defect
I asked him that
He said it was something the graders didn’t like
But that they are very picky

I did not draw the outline of the guitar on the pic above it was in a bundle that way

FYI: You can estimate UPS shipping costs with their quote tool here:
https://www.ups.com/ship/guided/origin?tx=4044174854787991&loc=en_US&WT.srch=1
Click on “Quick Start”, then click “Quote”. As Scott said the package weight is about 19lbs.
So for me, shipping to southeast TX, I can expect $45 for shipping (cheapest option) and have the package in about a week.

I wonder if the tendency toward tearout is part of why they were factory seconds.
I can see that being an issue a hobbyist can deal with by scraping, but a mass-production process would not waste time if it can’t be used straight out of the planer…

Yall should check fedex too then, I get a very small ground discount ( 5%i think, I get big overnight and freight discounts just not ground) and I should be under $35 to South Georgia

Sharing what I got in bundle:

Two bookmatched sets

After playing with the pieces, these two paired well

Couple more photos showing a few of my remaining favorites.

Thanks, Scott! Looking forward to some fun projects with these

Got mine today! Any tips on making them flat (ter)? Naturally the best looking ones are cupped pretty strongly. I’m assuming some moisture and weight might help? These pictures really don’t do them justice in the least but yall know that…

I got mine. Scott asked to post pictures, so here are a few. Out of the 20 boards, I worked out 10 pairs and divided them into 3 piles. 3 pairs were “okay to good”, 4 pairs were “very good”, and 3 pairs were “excellent”. I wish I got more of the super duper quilted boards, but I have some very nice wood to work with. Thanks Scott!

Here are some of those panels used in a recent project. They are glued to 1/4” mdf.

Rink, YES! Those are excellent. You are going to be blown away with how they come out. Please post pics if you use them.

Well it’s assembled but not setup yet
Lots of little things to tweak and then we will
Load it and deliver it
Been raining a little around here
There is a rail lift above the saw for us to lift it with and load it onto the trailer
Thank god as it is like 800#

It’s beautiful wood, but I’m a woodcarver. For me it would be horrible!
