How about using a turkey leg to check out your new Saw Stop safety system :))

I hope to be camping both before and after Thanksgiving. It falls right in the middle of my vacation time.

I spend my Thanksgiving with family. I might sneak in a little shop time, but doubtful. I refuse to shop on Thanksgiving. The employees should have the opportunity to spend the day with their families so I won’t encourage the stores to stay open.

We had ours already, and yes, I spent it in the shop. Of course, it’s a bit easier for me as we have ours on a Monday, so we usually do the family thing on the Sunday.

Well my plan is to hunt in the morning then host lunch for my family at my house. I might try to sneak my nephew out for a fast squirrel hunt then put my two kids to bed then go to my in-laws for thanksgiving dinner. Hope it all works out. It’s usually a very busy and exhausting day. Probably won’t have any time to make saw dust.

For me the best way to spend thanksgiving is outdoors.

Pray for our Families and Friends thanking God for His Guidance, Wisdom, and Help in being better.

Watch TV Football as I walk past the TV…

Water garden & plants…

Take care of emails, etc.

Checkout Lumberjocks, etc. etc.

Help prepare food for main dinner…

Help COOK the food for main dinner…

Fix odeavours (sp) (goodies)...

Maybe wander into & out of messy Shop… <===== :)

Depending on score & teams playing, watch more Football…

Talk on phone… to other family members spread across the world…

Have a wonderful, quiet, dinner… trying NOT to eat too much!

Yep… Jut doing what I want whenever I want…
What a GREAT time / Day it will be…

I wish everyone else a Great day… !!

Thank you.

I’ve been preparing the Thanksgiving feast for my family for the past 20 years. Everything from soup to nuts. It’s a feast fit for kings and queens. My “shop” will be the kitchen. My thanks will be given to the cleanup crew. That’s the only part I don’t do myself.

Usually rolling my eyes and wondering how in the world I could possibly be related to all the weird people in this house . . . . . . only to realize they are thinking the same about me. :-)

My mother is coming down early next week so no shop time, but it’s all hands on deck shop time right now. lol. My shop is such a mess and my mother will need to use it, so out of safety concerns, I’m on high time alert to get my major project at a reasonable stop point that can help clear up the mess in there. After Thanksgiving will be back to shop time.

My oldest daughter will be home from college for Thanksgiving, so they (wife and 2 daughters) will make pies (pumpkin, apple, pecan) the night before. Thanksgiving morning the turkey will go on the Big Green Egg for 6+ hours and we have cinnamon waffles for breakfast. I’ll spend some time in the shop until it’s time to get the final things around for dinner. After we finish eating it’s become a tradition to watch White Christmas and have dessert. Friday, rather than going shopping, we get all of the Christmas stuff out and spend the rest of the weekend putting it out. Here and there, I usually manage to get out to the shop for a bit.

Spending time with my family is SO much more important to me than woodworking.

If everything goes as planned, we should be in Destin, FL on Thanksgiving.

After every one is full of Turkey and pumpkin pie, they leave and I do the dishes, I’ll be back on the lathe finishing up projects.

cheers, Jim

We have family over for Thanksgiving. Black Friday is when I put up all the Christmas decorations outside. When that’s done it’s back into the shop. I have three presents to finish building.
