I don’t think that the lacquer will melt polycarbonate. Try lacquer thinner on an old pair to verify that. I used a two-stage paint to repaint the roof of my truck. The kind of stuff that you wear a protective suit and respirator when spraying it. I got over-spray on my glasses (plastic lenses). I buffed and buffed with a soft cloth, but ultimately got it all off by running my thumbnail over the lenses. They are still clear.

Been using lacquer thinner for over 30 years, and ain’t hurt the lenses yet. ............. Jerry (in Tucson)
