Really nice top. Why breadboards with a slab?

contrast mostly and, none that I’ve seen have it, so there’s that also it should never warp with the heavy duty joinery I used.

What is that, what you’re making on the lathe?

1/2” maple pegs for the breadboard edge. I used a 1/2” open ended wrench with one tine sharpened to shave them down to their final thickness. I cut maple scrap into 5/8” square stock made some plywood holders with a 5/8” centered square socket they work as drive centers

I cut the blanks round with a gouge than shave them down with the sharpened wrench

about 5min a peg, I had maple scrap and nowhere around here sold maple dowel stock the bread boards are held on with drawbore pegs no glue except the last bit of the peg before I drove it into the breadboard edge.
