Applying spray on finish in this cold weather

Hi Jim. I know heat makes the difference. In cold weather I try to heat the part and the spray can somewhere- usually in the furnace room- and then spray in the shop. I find if either are cold, I get lots of runs and sags.

I find that if I run hot water from the sink over the spray can and shake it up every 10 or 15 seconds until I feel the finish itself hot in the can it sprays a lot better. This doesn’t really help it to dry faster, but it does for certain seem to help it smooth or “wet” out good and give a better application with little or no runs.

Yes, I heat the rattle can in a can of hot water also.
