What's up with these hinges?

Interesting. I’ve never seen that method of attachment before. Unless you can find an exact match with the same bolt, I think you have only two choices: 1. Make some wood plugs to match the recesses in the doors and glue them in place. Then attach the new hinges with wood screws. 2. Drill a hole in the new hinges (hopefully it is not too close to the smaller screw hole) for a replacement bolt of the same length. It would not need to be “captured” in the hinge. Hope this helps.

Is that retaining ring a snap ring? You may be able to remove it.

I’ve decided this isn’t something standard. The black slide in piece looks ‘cut’, like someone made all of these. Made some wood plugs to slide in per ‘bilyo’ suggestion and that worked fine. What seemed to work as well and a little easier was hammering the bolt out of the old hinge, drilling the new hinge to match the bolt, and countersinking. Went in just like the old ones did. Thanks for the help!
