Have you considered looking on the internet for a manual for your machine. Most jointer knives are fine to resharpen and will cost anywhere from .80 to 1.20 per inch to sharpen.
But always follow the manufacturer instructions for replacements and how to set them.
Search your area for a saw sharpening service.
Good luck

Just have them resharpened. It doesn’t hurt to have an alternate set ready to go for when you ship the dull set off.

Thanks! I’ll look into getting them sharpened then. :-)

I also recently purchase the Hitachi p12ra from the original owner.
I printed out both parts and user manuals and researched the heck out of the planer on the internet concerning use and basic maintenance. As a result, I wasn’t able to find much. From what I have read, the Hitachi P12ra and Hitachi F1000A share some parts (not confirmed). You can order parts from ereplacementparts and/or Amazon.
Today, I replaced the belt, brush, and roller blocks as preventive maintenance. I also cleaned and oiled the machine. The blades were in good shape but with an older machine I thought it would be best to order planer blades. I also ordered the blade setting guides as well.
It was quite a pleasant surprise seeing little to no plastic parts other than the 2 side covers and the bolts, nuts, and washers are stainless steel.
Good luck.

Have your say...
