Thanks for posting that, I hadn’t seen that article. I do wish they have said where the location of the hunt was. To answer you question no. We have had a very active bear season this in the valley where I live. Even had a neighbor mauled to death and a searcher sent to the hospital a mile down the road from me. -- Alaskan's for Global warming! |

“Have you ever had an encounter with one?” Yes, they come to my place every summer. in fact I “bear sprayed ” 2 of them this year. I’ve got some bear pictures I’ll post here a little bit later. -- Alaskan's for Global warming! |

So is the answer no since he’s on the outskirts of the woods or is he just one of those bears that likes to be watched? |

we have out ways two. The guy in this article poured and finished most of the concrete in Anchorage until he retired (rich BTW). I worked with him many times when I was in construction. I was a carpenter but when ever there was a pour we all worked together. Anyway the guy kill a bear with a knife, up close and personal. http://badassoftheweek.com/genemoe.html -- Alaskan's for Global warming! |

yes they do crap in the woods. live in northern wisconsin and have 4 beagles. beagles love to rub in any crap on the ground we have a few acres of black berry plants on the edge of the property. bears eat blackberries, bears crap out a large pile about the size of cow patties, beagles find crap pile and roll all through it,, wife screams at me to do something about it. dogs get hosed down with garden hose,, happens every summer. |
