When I lived in Houston, I did all my wood shopping at Houston Hardwoods on West 27th (I think it’s 27th, or is it 23rd) off of 290 and a bit past the 610 loop. You can buy all sorts of wood there, rough or surfaced. I don’t know if they will mill your wood, but they might. Call em.

I miss that place. You shopped for wood, picked what you wanted, stack it on a rolling cart, and walk it to the office to pay. And they have a nice selection of cut-offs and odd pieces of all sorts of exotic wood. The thing I really liked was that I got to pick the wood I wanted. I can’t do that where I shop now.

Houston Hardwoods is on 34th.

I do not know if they will mill lumber you bring, but they do offer those services for purchases made there…

MasterJack, how many board feet do you need milled? I can assist you in milling your lumber but, I’m about 35-40 minutes away from you. I live off the beltway and 45 south. PM me if you want to talk. Good luck!

That’s very kind of you – thank you. I’ll have a look and let you know. I’ll see if I can find someplace local so as not to transport it all across town but I thank you so very much!

Regards,

John
