Why does be matter you shouldn’t be using the same password on a forum that you use for your actual personal information.

Thanks AG,
I know you’re trying to help others.

Just goes to show that the malware out there is trying to grab any and everything it can. Thanks for the reminder to keep my Norton security up to date.

Your not bothering me but it’s kind of like the whole alder comments you guys are beating a dead horse. There have been numerous threads with this site is unsecure they need to change it blah blah blah. Like this one that already explains it http://lumberjocks.com/topics/256769 . No one called you a dummy so don’t be so quick to be defensive.

As this site isn’t HTPPS, yet over-zealous anti-virus software is going to do this from time to time. I also use Bitdefender, and it used to do it a lot, but I just added this site to the ‘exclusions’ and no more issues.

I’ve had Bitdefenders for several years now and this is the first time for this site.

Some people would rather hang around with the nubbies and talk about the weather and what they had for lunch than discuss real woodworking topics.

I use Bitdefenders Internet Security software. The is the alert I received.

”An attempt to send your password unencrypted was about to occur on lumberjocks.com. We blocked the connection to stop your private data from being exposed and tampered with.”

Thanks for the warning AG! Much Appreciated! I use Avast AntiVirus and have received similar Notices from them , but just that they Blocked it. They also mention the Missing “HTTP and/or The SSL” and they put a Permanent “Not Secure” ih front of the Web Address

I use the same Password for Some Sites as Avast also remembers them for me and I can change them whenever I want to.

I don’t understand why Anyone would Bitch about your Post. Your trying to WARN/HELP guys about a possible Danger and they’re Whining about it? Go Figure!!

Thanks Again Buddy: Rick S.

When I get stuff like that I actually call the makers of whatever software is saying I have a problem. That type of weird thing has happened to me 3 times. All 3 times the software folks I was using said it was malware, I’d picked up, that was saying which software I had on my system in an attempt to get me to CHANGE my password so their key logger could get it, as I did so.

Gotta be careful, and if it looks weird or different don’t assume the white hat guys have arrived, probably just black hats trying to steal stuff. The technical term is phishing. They used to just do it by e-mail. Today if they can get you to take the malware bait, You be the Fish whats on da hook.

Stay away from them pron sites :-)

Good points Steve! I read about exactly that 2/3 days ago. The advice was to Close it Quickly and Don’t do what they are asking, as you’ve said.

I’ve never been on a pron site in my Life! Unless it’s a spelling error then UHM, UHM, UHM. Gee I forgot what I was going to say.

Thanks Buddy: Rick S.

Yes. Your Correct AG. It was a joke on his spelling of porn. He spelled it “pron”. I’ve also never used “Alder” for anything.

I also stood up for you because of the Loudmouth, Know it all’s on this Post. You were just trying to HELP all the others and they found it necessary to Criticize You.
