Maybe I should take the load of this antique table…

just in case I scratch it and depreciate it,

One of the comments said it sold at auction for $470K!!
It has to be the bell flowers and dirt that makes it so valuable.

I wouldn’t pay that much if it was dirt from Mars!!!! Reminds me of my real property tax assessment….I couldn’t get that for my house if I wallpapered it with $100 bills!!!

Back in the 1970s my friends older brother bought cheap furniture beat the heck out of it, added a fake old time finish look and sold them for ?10x what he had in them. One born every second.

It is age and provenance….

Lots of folks make “maloof rockers” that are just as well crafted as what Sam made…..
But they don’t sell for $50K… unless they were made by Sam.

Someone would be foolish to buy such a piece of furniture. It will fall apart any day now from wood movement because the piece wasn’t built from kiln dried lumber.

DrD, if it was an original Maloof dated 2018... you could add a few zeros at the end of the 50...

pottzy, you impatient bugger… just wait a mere 220 years and you’ll get your $3K and they’ll probably paid for the shipping as by then the neighbour may have moved away.
PS. I’ll expect a vino from the proceeds.
PPS. Good to see your keyboards [Shift key] has recovered!

ArtM, me thinks after 220 years it hadn’t fallen apart and it’s gonna any day now from wood movement... maybe those climate change zealots have some smidgeon of credence!

Exactly what I’ve been thinking Pottz! I’d specialize in Old Looking Pictures and Jewellery (I have a few pieces of them) and just Stockpile them!

There’s a lot of them on that show and the prices are Incredible!

I’ve got a Pot full of Old Coins from Holland and Germany that my Dad brought back from WW2. I’ll bet you there are a few in there worth at least $5.00 …LOL..

Anyway Garage Sales & Flea Markets are good choices.

Best Regards: Rick S. (AKA …. HEY YOU!!!)

Not True! After 220 Years it’s just all of a sudden going to Drop into a pile of Firewood? I’ll take the 220 Years of Drying over Kiln Dried Lumber any day of the week!

You also don’t know how the Lumber WAS Treated before Construction!

Are all of your Projects made from Kiln ….. OOOOPS! Just had a look at your Profile. You’re ALL “0’s” across the board.

LMFAO Pottz! This guy is obviously WRONG and has contributed “0” to this Site, yet he makes a Dumb Statement like this? ” Someone would be foolish to buy such a piece of furniture.” and has NO idea of the value of this piece or any other Heirloom!

Shotguns? I’m Left Handed, does that mean I need a special Model?

When I was in Cadets in High School (Never mind all the BLAH BLAH) I won “Best Rifle Shot, Band Co.” then onto “Best Regimental Rifle Shot” Then they sent Me to Sniper School at Camp Borden for 2 weeks. All of this using a WW2, 404 Caliber, Semi Automatic Rifle that was made for Righties. ................... Why Am I Typing all this nonsense?!!

Just a MING Vase used as an Umbrella Stand. Until someone recognized The Real Value of it.

It’s Value is in the MMM MMM MM M M I’m to nervous to type the Value!

It’s now on permanent Display at “Christie’s Antiques” The VALUE is more clearly explained in the “SHOW MORE” Section of the Description. Some of the Comments are a HOOT!
