That’s not much to go on. Try naphtha.

I would try equal parts naphtha, gasoline, and flames.

I would be willing to bet that they used lacquer on it. Try lacquer thinner.

I’m like Rich, could use a little more info….

Are you trying to strip it? Do you know what got splashed on it? When you scrape it off with your fingernail, does it scrape to the bare wood?

Have you already tried scrubbing it with something like Simple Green, Goof Off or a “citrus cleaner”? A TSP (trisodium phosphate) mixture may cut it as well.

I also bet they used lacquer on it which will tolerate a variety of cleaners. As always, try spot cleaning an inconspicuous spot on the inside of the door/cabinet to see how the finish responds to your cleaner.

No, not trying to strip it merely remove the white discoloration. Have no idea whats on it and when I scrape it with my nail the finish including the gloss stays on and looks good.

Just tried the Goo Gone, took it right off. I did a small area and I am going to wait and see what it looks like in a day or two. Rich and everyone thanks for the suggestions, we’ll see how it goes.
