Grizzly is notorious for using cheap bearings. Good ones should last a very long time, yet it is not unusual to hear about Grizzly machines needing replacement within a year or two. I sure hope you didn’t order the replacements from Grizzly! If you did… you may want to go ahead and order a couple more from a reputable bearing supplier so you have them on hand for next time :)

Ditto. If it’s a common size 6200 series it should cost less than 6-7$ apiece and that’s for the bigger of the sizes.

Yeah, I spend a little extra and buy good quality bearings. USA, Germany, Japan, anywhere else.

When I was younger and did more turning, I thought it was normal to replace the bearings every year, now
they seem to last several years.
