Increasing height of mobile tool cart

I think your solution would work.

You could also probably just run 2×4s along each side on the bottom and then mount the casters to them.

I would suggest you pay attention to the center of gravity also.
the smaller your base and the higher you go increases the risk of falling over. (which is not a good thing).

That is a good point. The base of my drill press is 17” x 10”, so I made the table 24” x 22” to give some extra space. Think that will be a problem?
