IMHO the G1023RL represents excellent value in a good lifetime saw that will be capable of anything you throw at, and will be a pleasure to use for years to come, so I think you’re on the right track to upgrade past the hybrid to a full blown cabinet saw. Whatever configuration you want from that is personal preference.

I’ve always built my router table extensions, but buying one is certainly an option if you want. The G1023RLW doesn’t add much cost for what you get. You can extend the rip capacity pretty easily.

I have the Grizzly 1023RLWX. Got it about a year and three months ago. I love the saw. I use the router extension often. I only keep round over bits in the router usually 1/4”. I got a shaper at the same time and I highly recommend that as well. For the money I think this saw is an excellent value. I cut a lot of dado, rabbet, and groove joints with my dado stack. The saw doesn’t miss a beat. I would buy it again. Like you rip capacity isn’t a big deal. My shop isn’t that big anyway. As you describe I use the saw and outfeed table for work/assembly and I like the router wing for that too. I took some of the internal dust collection crap off the saw so I could get my dado stack on and off easier. It also jammed up with wood chips. That WAS the only issue I had. Be sure to get the tailgate delivery and track the shipment often…......Good luck

Other than choosing the G0690, I did exactly what you are contemplating with regards to a router extension. to the TS:

And I added this router extension, and it comes with an extension leg for the TS:

Good choice with going up from G0771. I was not that smart I bought it and I felt I overgrew it in few month.

Have your say...
