That would be a good price in my area if the saw is in good shape.

Thanks everyone! I looked at the saw and tried it out. Cuts just as good as the saw stop I’ve been using at my shared space. Fence is true but I’d love to upgrade to something smoother. I’m going to make an offer at $475.

It’s most likely an early hybrid with table mounted trunnions, and not a true cabinet saw….just has an enclosed cabinet. That’s the basic jet fence ….functional, but nothing special. It’s probably pushing 20 years old. It’s right tilt, and pre-riving knife. Still potentially a decent saw with solid cast wings. I’d be inclined to offer something closer to $400.

Congrats on your saw. Get it aligned and put a good blade on it. Enjoy!

Hi folks- now that I have my saw in place waiting for it’s 240v supply, I’m thinking of getting a smoother fence than the 15yo jet factory fence.
What can you all recommend as a good versatile fence that has a good solid feel. I like the saw stop fence system. Anything universal that feels like SS T-fence?

The Delta T3 is probably the best deal you will find. It usually runs $200 or so.

If you’re willing to spend more, the VerySuperCoolTools fence is fantastic. Not sure if the existing rails on your saw wil work with it, but it’s a great fence.

Is the Delta less expensive than the Vega? The Vega fence system is available with everything needed to install starting at $300.

If you go order the Delta T3 through Lowe’s, you can hit eBay to find some $40 off $200 coupon codes. I have done that in the past with no issues. The last time I purchased the codes I spent $4.99 and got $40 off the cart. I hate paying coupons, but it saved me $35!

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I don’t have the T3 fence, but since it is listed as $209 at Lowe’s you should be able to use the $40 off $200 coupon code.

Here is an example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1x-One-Lowes-40-off-200-Coupons-for-Online-Purchase-Only/282821220098?hash=item41d9755702:g:BBUAAOSwqfZaZ3Lp

I can’t vouch for the seller, but he/she has good reviews.

Yes, the T3 has recently been closer to $200-$220, while the Vega starts north of $300. I do think the Vega is a bit nicer and has a great micro adjuster, and is fairly simple to install, but both are nice upgrades.

You should be able to find coupon codes for Lowes at the SlickDeals forums. I’m not sure if they have the $40 off $200 coupons or not, but they usually have everything there.

Yes. It’s decent, but not in the same league as the Vega or T3 IMO. It’s all aluminum and needs to be rolled to the end of the rail to be removed. Since it doesn’t save any money, I’d pass.

Now that I’ve found a few steals on CL for cabinet saw and drill press I’m looking for jointer/planer/bandsaw to continue outfitting my shop with machines. Electrician is coming to hookup 220 this weekend. Which should I get next for my wood shop??....there are a lot of deals in my area right now

So….I’ve got my fence dialed in with a super sharp Forrest WWII blade and it is an amazing machine running on 220. I just got my T3 fence from Lowes yesterday and I’m not impressed with the steel. I really wanted something more sturdier like the beis style. Lowes shows a picture of the Beismeyer on the T3 product page: https://www.lowes.com/pd/BIESEMEYER-Fence-System/50383556.

Can you all recommend a beis style fence system that you like. I’m looking at the Beismeyer BC30-T2, Vega Pro, Jet Xacta II, and Incra.
Much appreciated any advise….
