good job, Trevor.
I like the way the top does not exceed the width of the base.
this provides a much safer and stable platform should anyone stand on it.

Nice job looks real good. I’ve always liked poplar wood. If you look around you can find some interesting grain and colors. I enjoy playing around with the finish to make it look different.

I like to put a slot in the top center of a stool like that. About 7/8” wide and 4” long or so (oriented lengthwise). Makes it easy to grab the stool with one hand so you don’t spill your beer. Chamfer or round the edges of the hole, of course.
