That’s beautiful wood. I can’t imagine a clear shellac, like Bulls Eye SealCoat, darkening that any further. Anything’s possible though. Just to play it safe, is there an area you can test it on? Say, the underside of a shelf.

Yes there is. I’ll sand and oil a patch on the bottom to test out the BLO/shellac combo. In fact, I should do another patch and go straight to epoxy resin just to see if I could have skipped the BLO altogether.
