To weigh in, just bought a bunch of Grizzly Polar Bear series, and I have to say I am impressed with everything EXCEPT the paint. Having worked with Grizzly products exclusively for over 2 years, and the shop where I was working getting sold off, it was time to invest in my own equipment. Performance wise, they measure up 100% in every way to their green counterparts. The issue I noticed was that the white paint is more of an enamel coat, and doesn’t conform to the metal casting as well as the green. As a result, it tends to scratch deeper and easier (so be careful when uncrating or moving.) The powedercoat green is a much harder, conforming coat, and has a better industrial feel. If you don’t care about color so much as the performance, there is no compromise going with white. I will be investigating a paint touch up kit just to keep my equipment in tip top visual condition though. -- Mark, Western New York, East Lake Woodcraft |
