I just don’t understand what supports the table.

Not much support. It will be a bit fragile for most purposes, but that is the price of cramped space in an RV. It is only supported by the front edge of the cabinet and pushing up against the cabinet top at the back. The dowels in the track at the top keep it from slipping out. Definitely not stable enough for kids to use, but should be fine for adults to eat or use a lap top.

Jim, What would keep the top up if that sliding door hardware were mounted vertically? Seems like it would take a lot “opening” spring pressure to support the table and anything on it.
