Most slabs are wider then 10”, at 10” I wouldn’t call it a slab, I would just call it rough cut lumber. The rule of thumb is that boards will dry at 1” per year from the outside in on all sides assuming all sides are exposed to air. So assuming your boards were properly stickered up with ends sealed, they are still not dry in the middle and won’t be till the 1 year anniversary of you cutting them into boards. Once they are dry they will have a price that is usually a dollar or more per board foot below what an 8/4 beech lumber would go for in your area. In Maryland an 8/4 beach board would go for about 6 dollars a board foot. |
