I’d use the 1/2”.

An idea: rabbet the edge of the bottom to create a 1/4” x 1/4” tongue with the tongue on the top. Then cut a 1/4×14” dado (I’d actually make it a touch deeper) in the drawer sides placed so that the bottom is flush with the sides. Since its all ply, you don’t need to make the bottom float, and you can glue it in place. This will increase the rigidity of the drawer.
