Another thing to consider is how tight of a radius do you want to be able to cut? Wider blades can take more abuse and will generally allow for greater feed rates. A 1/2” blade will not do scroll work and a 1/8” blade won’t last long if you’re trying to rip a thick hardwood. Most sites will specify the minimum radius that a blade can cut, if you know you won’t be doing any tight scrolling, get the thickest blade you can that will work for what you’re planning on doing.
