There are some semi-opaque and solid color stains that have UV inhibitors in the pigment.
I used the “natural red cedar” color in the wood trim all around my house and it has a 3 year life, supposedly.
I can only speak for the first year, as that is how long it’s been on there, but so far it looks exactly like it did the day I put it on. My trim was actually real red cedar and redwood, but had aged for 35 years. The solid color stain brought back its original color.
The product I used was a Beher solid color fence and trim stain from Home depot.
