Michael, I know how I screwed up. When I cut the first two 4 X 4’s I followed the line I drew with my square and I probably took the line off on all three sides and left the line the last side.

After I put a stop on the RA fence the cuts came out perfect nice and tight. But like you said I don’t think Better Homes and Gardens will be looking for my bench to show off. (Not to say I wouldn’t let them if they asked) LOL.

And I have another thing that I am kind of proud about. ALL the lumber is recycled from pallets, even the 4 X 4’s, I got a large Commercial Roof Top A/C Unit pallet and it had 4, 14’ yellow pine streachers and 1 X 6 white pine, yellow pine and cedar slats, all of my work shop walls are made with pallet lumber, pine, cedar and some oak, the outside is white alumn. siding on 2 X 4 frame and it’s 10’ X 20’ looks like a little log cabin inside.

My work bench will also be made completely out of pallet material with no hardware connections, I will be using M&T with walnut or maple dowels, (I’ll have to buy them at HP, haven’t found any of those on my pallets). The only hardware will be the two vices, right now I only have the side vice, looking for a good used end vice.

Hope to have pictures soon.

Mark
