the pulley is adjustable its on a shaft it has a keyway and a set screw if the set is loose and its not coplaner the pulley will self align itself, you can use a straight pc of wood that will work as good as anything to get your pulleys coplaner, please dont assume that this jointer is perfect when it arrives dont assume anything you have to go over it and be sure just sayin, yes your jointer is not cop-laner like I said take the front and back panels off and put some sort of straight edge on the pulleys its easy you can put something across the bottom pulley and then sight to the top pulley but first get your motor over and at least center up the bottom pulley and go from there just sayin
