Zoom in on the tip threads (Snail?) to see if they are worn. Then look at the wings to see if they have enough meat left from previous sharpening and make sure some idiot hasn’t attempted to file the outside edge. Good deal? I just look at what available and previous sale amounts. Of course that research goes out the window when I get into a bidding frenzy on ebay.
