Natural hair bristles will always shrink at different rates when exposed to water, AKA the brush is toast after. Keep them in the mineral spirits and as long as you clean well all is good. People who soak brushes or place in the freezer instead of cleaning are just lazy or started with brushes that didn’t cost much. I have brushes that are thirty years old and have paint thinner just as old, settles out for the next cleaning just fine. This used to be my profession and we treated our tools with respect as they are what determined how effective we could be day in and day out. It was not unheard of to clean our brushes before lunch so they wouldn’t get too far gone. This is oil based mind you but laytex you can do as you see fit, but I am just as opinionated about that too.
