The Stanley Bailey 5 1/4 C was made from 1921 to 1942. It is the rarest of all Bailey pattern bench planes. Rarer by number produced than the highly sought after Bailey No. 1. A 5 1/4C usually commands at least twice the going price of an equivalent condition 5 1/4 non corrugated plane. The corrugated 5 1/4 planes are so scarce that there have been fakes made by machining corrugations in a common non corrugated 5 1/4…. It took me a long long time to acquire one for my collection. Even with the damaged tote, I’d estimate $150.00 to a collector, particularly due to being a Type 14 in the desirable Sweetheart era. This is definitely not a “user”. It belongs in a collection.
