I bought the Freud set when they first came out for around $60.

Mainly to cut 3/8” and 1/4” box joints, but lately I’ve been using it for far more. The cuts are exceptionally smooth and square, perfect for nibbling away at tenons where before I’d use a dado set or just a FTG rip blade.

The teeth are big chunks of carbide and tough. I was apprehensive when I needed a 1/4” shallow crosscut groove in the face of some maple I had just veneered. The tear out potential was high, but the blade cut perfectly.
