Pretty darned cool Paul. I’m far from production line and carving the neck, whether guitar or ukulele with spokeshaves, rasps, etc. is one of the most enjoyable processes for me. I use acrylic templates to check the curve at 1, 7 and 12th fret but a lot of it is by feel and checking with low angle light. Jean Larivee claimed he could hand carve a neck in 45 seconds with only final tuning after that. I’m more like 30 minutes to carve it to the fine tuning stage. If making multiples, this makes a lot of sense. Nice work.
